  1. I am trying to search for a smallpox epidemic after 1870 and before 1920 that would have taken the lives of an ancester. They are listed in the 1870 US census. I am having trouble with this and if you could provide me with a list of epidemics that may have occured in this time frame. Husband was listed in census as having come from LA, his wife from OH, and the four children were all born in IL. can you help me??
